Welcome

You are unique. In order to nourish your health and potential, you need support as distinctive as you.
Where do you want to grow?
Reduce stress and anxiety
Rehabilitate an injury
Gain clarity and confidence
Ease chronic pain
Support yourself through a difficult transition
Break habits that hold you back from your potential
Establish better relationships
Recover from trauma
Or…
I offer highly individualized, personal practices designed for the original situation of each student. I create an experience catered to you and refine it as you grow.
A personal practice allows for re-habituation of the human system in body as well as mind. It can bring about awareness of old patterns and create a support for change. A personal practice can incorporate many different tools including movement, breathing practices, chanting or making sound, meditation, and diet & lifestyle recommendations.
Private consultations, stress-relief for the office, group classes (meditation, hatha, power, restorative, gentle, chair, adaptive), workshops, lectures, training creation, & corporate classes are available.

About

Meg Bratt
I am passionate about teaching my clients an understanding of their self as a dynamic relationship between all of the aspects that make up the individual: the connections between tissues and bones, body habits, lifestyle choices, emotions, intellect, and personality. It is my goal to work in a fun, engaging way to make the teachings personal for each individual.

More

I began my yoga practice in San Francisco while in college at the University of California, Berkeley. I found the CorePower Yoga community when I moved to Denver in 2004 and I began teaching Hot Yoga there in May 2005. I continued to train and teach in many other styles: Power Yoga (2006), Hot Power Fusion (2007), and Restorative Yoga (2008). I have been involved in creating, leading, and lecturing in teacher trainings since 2006. I have a massage therapy certificate (Colorado School of Healing Arts), deepening my understanding of anatomy.
In 2012, I completed a 500-hour Krishnamacharya lineage training (Viniyoga) with the Healing Yoga Foundation in San Francisco and continued with three-year training in Yoga Therapy with Yoga as Therapy North America (2017). This tradition, and the support of my teachers and mentor, has dramatically changed the perspective of my teaching to approach each person in an individualized way, encouraging my students to focus on exploring their own unique experience in a practice instead of looking to achieve an expected position or outcome.

Offerings

Group Classes

Different styles of classes are different styles of tools. They can be skillfully blended in a class or kept separate based on the appropriate application to the students. I teach in the Viniyoga tradition of adaptive application. The use of class styles I apply can be called Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Restorative, Gentle, Adaptive, and Chair. I have experience teaching a wide range of physical movement abilities and age.
If you are interested in finding my group class schedule around the Denver Metro Area or would like to set up a group class, please contact me.

Private Instruction

Private classes (one-on-one meetings) can take on a range of different appearances based on needs and interest. The first meeting will always include an intake. Private classes can include a mix of guided movement, yoga philosophy in relation to your personal life experience, chanting instruction, lifestyle & diet recommendations, restorative yoga, breath exercises, and guided meditation.
I am available to meet at your home or office. I also have locations though the Denver Metro Area where we can meet. Contact me to book an appointment.

Workshops & Lectures

I teach a wide array of yoga workshops. A few are listed below, though the application of yoga’s principles is endless.
• Yoga for Chronic Pain
• Breathing Practices for Anxiety & Stress Reduction
• Yoga Breaks for the Chair-bound Worker
• Develop Your At-home Restorative Practice
• Yogic Philosophy for Every Day Life
• Accessible Meditation Techniques
• Vedic Chanting & Sanskrit
If you are interested in having a workshop or lecture created to support your personal goals, please contact me.

Developing a Personal Practice

If you are interested in receiving a practice specifically designed for you, I recommend a commitment to a minimum of three meetings: one 1.5-hour and two 1-hour sessions over a maximum of 2.5 months. The first, longer meeting will include an intake and a yoga practice. From this meeting I design an initial practice for you. For best results, practice daily. The second meeting is scheduled 1 to 1.5 weeks after the initial meeting. We will review your practice, make adjustments, practice other tools, and discuss the yogic philosophy behind the practice. Approximately a month later, we will check in again to discuss the effects of the practice and continue its refinements as you grow. In order to maintain a personal practice it is important to keep a connection to the teacher. Monthly meetings can continue or more regularly scheduled meetings are available to support your process.

Mentoring

Mentoring is available for students and teachers looking for support in their personal and professional development.
This isn’t a path you travel alone. The tradition of a personal practice is not solitary. The mentor relationship is an important support to the growth and change that happens with an ongoing practice. It can often be the relationship with the mentor that helps keep the practice going in difficult times.
It is my humble blessing to support you. I offer to you the commitment to listen to you, to reflect back to you, and to build your connection to yogic philosophy. Depending on your areas of interest, our mentor meetings can include: Yoga Sutras and yogic perspectives, personal practice development, class and workshop creation, and more.

Meditation

Sustained attention is the tool for discernment. There is a logical sequence to prepare our mind for deeper states of focus. What you focus on affects the state of your system. Therefore choosing meditative objects and tools should be carefully considered to support your path of growth.
If you are interested in receiving a meditation specifically designed for you, please read Developing a Personal Practice. Contact me to book an appointment.

Chanting

Ancient seers in deep states of meditation heard a transmission. It is this vibration we recreate through the practice of chanting. My specialty is in healing chants, Yoga Sutras, and mantras. Chanting can be taught as its own subject of focus or incorporated into meditation and breath exercises. Chanting is available as private tutoring or as part of a small group.
